Mike Kinkade has been hit by a pitch in each of the first 4 games this season. What is the NPB record for consecutive games hit by a pitch, and to start the season? I cannot remember a streak like this since I have been in Japan.

I'm not sure, but he stands up at the plate with his elbow over the side part of the plate, and waits for the ball to hit him. Nobody can hit the inside part of the plate without running into Kinkade's elbow. This looks like a good tactic to force the pitcher to throw the ball where he wants.

The yearly Record Book only covers career HBP (Giants' Kiyohara - 181 and counting), Season HBP (Taiyo's Iwamoto - 24 in 1952), Most HBP in a Game (Nishitetsu's Takenouchi - 3 on May 24, 1970 against Hankyu), and Most HBP in an inning (Hiroshima's Kinugasa - 2 in an inning on August 31, 1976 against Chunichi).
