Baseball Ticket

Discussion in the Ask the Commish forum
Baseball Ticket
I am a huge baseball fan in Canada, I have visited 19 different North American ballparks for the last few years. I am going to visit Osaka from 29April to 1May and want to see a baseball game. I've checked the schedule for Hanshin and Orix - they are both playing at home park during that time. Just want to ask are their tickets popular? Do you think I am still able to get tickets just before the game at the gate? Any suggestions or hints for me? Also, what is the time for the game / will it be a night time game?? Thanks

Normally I would answer that, unless you're going to a Giants' game, you'll be OK getting your tickets at the gate. However, with Hoshino-kantoku taking over the Hanshin Tigers, and the fever that runs through Osakans' blood for the Tigers, that may not be so easy this year. Of course, this is contingent on whether or not Hanshin gets off to a good start. No matter how heated the fan, it's easier to find an excuse to go to a game when one's team is winning.

Even though Kintetsu had a championship year last year, most Osakan's still conder Hanshin to be their team. For that reason, Osaka Dome tickets shouldn't be that hard to get. Again, though, a winnng team draw a better crowd, so it'll greatly depend on the standings at the point.

Not a very specific answer, is it? Generally, you should be OK. But there is a chance that you'll have to go to the dafuya (scalpers).

Have a nice trip.
