Many hitters say that they see the ball hit the bat. Some people have proven that the shutter speed of our eyes does not work fast enough to actually see the ball the last five or six feet in front of the plate. That being said, it is good practice to follow the ball with your eyes as long as possible. When taking a pitch, some hitters move their head and follow the pitch into the glove.
