Nakamura caps his rollercoaster year with MVP honor
A month before the 2007 season opener, Norihiro Nakamura said,
''It's not about money. I just want to play baseball.''

The Japan Series MVP third baseman, once one of the highest-paid
players in Japanese baseball, was going through a tryout with the
Chunichi Dragons, the only team that gave him a chance to continue
his playing career, in late February after the Orix Buffaloes
released him when he refused to accept a 60 percent pay cut in
offseason talks.
