The target will be where the catcher wants the pitcher to throw the ball - on the inside or outside, low or high. Very seldom is the target given straight down the middle unless the pitcher is throwing a breaking ball as the first strike of the count or throwing a pitch when it is certain a hitter will be taking the pitch.
