ヤクルト・石井一はまた勝てなかった。腰痛で３週間近く戦列を離れ、この日は５日以来の先発マウンド。七回途中まで丁寧にスライダーを低めに集め、４安打で８奪三振、１点リードで交代したが、救援投手が同点を許して白星はなくなった。７月８日以来、勝利から見放されている石井一は「今年は流れが悪いというか、こういうパターンが多いね」とポツリ。それでも「残り少ないけど何とかしたい」と巻き返しを誓った。
