Jeff Williams
Hanshin Tiger's star reliever Jeff Williams is attracting a lot of interest from MLB teams. So much that he could be playing in North America next season.

I suspect Williams will be more interested in representing Australia next summer in the 2008 Olympics. But how much longer are his knees going to hold up?

Anyway, my understanding is that Williams would prefer to finish his career here in Japan.

If Williams wants to play in the Olympics, it would make more sense that he play in Japan. Japanese teams have shown more flexibility in allowing players to go to the Olympics. That's one of the reasons Dingo came here, although we know how that turned out.

Did he tell you that or did you read it somewhere? If it's the latter, I'd love to read it, too, so could you tell us where you got that info?
