- Any news on his plans for the upcoming year?

The White Sox were interested in Nakamura, but Orix put Nakamura on the protected player list, so it looks like he will play the 2005 season with the Buffaloes.

On Tuesday former Kintestu Buffaloes president, Keisuke Ashitaka, said the procedures to make Nakamura available for the posting system have been completed. [Link - Japan Ball]

Word is the Dodgers are the only team that might be interested. He demands to traded if no Major League club is interested.

If he goes to Dodgers, he'll earn $0.5 million a year or so, that's less than 10% of what he was making last season, about 5-oku yen.

Wow. I didn't know he would be going the Iwakuma route if he isn't picked up by an MLB team. Chiba Lotte needs someone at third, so we'll be happy to have him. We should just start Hatsushiba at third all year. Haha.

The Dodgers submitted a bid for Nakamura on Friday (January 28). [Link - MLB.com]

What is Nakamura doing? It seems like he's wasting his time with the Dodgers. He's played very little and spent all of his time in the minors. Now the Dodgers just signed 3B Bill Mueller. I don't think the Dodgers think to much of him.

The Dodgers have already released him - I don't know what he'll do next.

Orix has extended Nakamura an offer to play with the Buffaloes.
