Midre Cummings in CPBL

Midre Cummings in CPBL
Outfielder Midre Cummings has ended up with the La New Bears of the Chinese Professional Baseball League. The 35 year old left handed hitter played mainly with the Ottawa Lynx of the Triple-A International League in 2005 when he batted .284 with 12 home runs and 40 RBIs in 74 games.

There was talk of Cummings ending up in Japan, but at his age the best time for him to have gone there would have been after the 2004 season when he enjoyed his best season as a professional, ripping 27 homers with the Durham Bulls.

A former first round draft pick by the Minnesota Twins, Cummings has played in 460 Major League games comprising a .257 batting average along with 22 round-trippers.
About

This is a site about Pro Yakyu (Japanese Baseball), not about who the next player to go over to MLB is. It's a community of Pro Yakyu fans who have come together to share their knowledge and opinions with the world. It's a place to follow teams and individuals playing baseball in Japan (and Asia), and to learn about Japanese (and Asian) culture through baseball.

It is my sincere hope that once you learn a bit about what we're about here that you will join the community of contributors.
